Orangutan is one of the most endangered species in the world, found only in Sumatra and Kalimantan, Bukit Lawang ('gateway to the mountain') is situated just 96kms northwest of Medan, making it one of the easiest, most accessible places to start your jungle adventure.

One of the most biodiversity regions in the world, the surrounding jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park houses 130 mammal species including 8 primate species, 285 species of birds and 89 endangered and protected species and the only last place on earth where orangutans, elephants, rhinos and tigers live together in habitat,

Two Days Jungle Trekking

Start trekking between the hours of 8 and 9 am. You will trekking and exploring the forest to see the orangutans in their habitat, Thomas leaf monkey, long-tailed monkeys, short-tailed monkeys and other primates, insects, lizards, snakes, etc., especially in Gunung Leuser National Park and you will walk for 6 or 7 hours of travel.

You will take a break to have some fruit and after about 4 hours you will have lunch and rest. After this, you will continue the trekking until you reach the campsite where you can swim in the river, drink tea, coffee and relax until you will enjoy a candle light dinner is delicious. The next day you can decide whether you just want to relax in the camp before you return or if you want to do trekking again in the jungle. You can choose whether you want to rafting or trekking back to Bukit Lawang. You'll come back after lunch.

Price (min 3 pers.): 80 € / person, the price includes: food and fruits for the whole trekking, camp with sleeping bags and mattresses, fees for national parks, good English speaking guides.
